The Aurora as seen from here between 5 and 6 AM after the big Coronal Mass Ejection impact was largely of a ghostly green hue, but a few times a pink line emerged, courtesy of a certain strength of electromagnetism reaching down to a lower layer in the Earth’s atmosphere where the element Nitrogen fluoresces , bequeathing us these pink lines.
